Attention current EM residents interested in Healt. Missed us last time? Presently, the Hospital Center is the largest cardiovascular referral center in the region. Emergency room admissions include patients with myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiac complications.
Along with common cardiac illnesses, the hospital treats a variety of unusual and complex problems as patients are referred from the region for tertiary cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic services, including emergency transportation of those who are acutely ill by the MedStar helicopter medevac program.
Under the supervision of highly-skilled clinicians, fellows have tremendous opportunities to manage a variety of cardiac patients at these two institutions, as well as take part in cutting edge research in the field, with active research protocols throughout the breadth of cardiovascular care.
